Biryani is one of the most ordered dishes at restaurants as well as the most loved dish on our dinner table at home. One obvious reason is that this one-dish meal is unbelievably delicious, and another could probably be that it is not considered a very simple dish to make at home. To make the perfect biryani, you have to do a lot of prepping and chopping, and after all that, spare more time for it to cook. Since, we are always looking for ways to cook our favourite meals at home with ease, we found this recipe of instant pot biryani that can help us make biryani easily like any other regular meal.

Manjula Jain, a popular food vlogger, shared the recipe of vegetarian biryani. Mind you, don’t mock it as veg pulao, because it’s not! Just like chicken biryani or mutton biryani, this veg biryani is full of flavours from a range of whole spices and spice powders. It is cooked in desi ghee, and saffron (kesar) milk and yogurt make it rich in look and taste.

Vegetables are the essence of veg biryani, so pick your veggies wisely. This recipe uses a mix of potatoes, capsicum, carrots, cauliflower florets and green beans. For an extra bang of flavours, the biryani is garnished with mint leaves and roasted cashews and raisins.

Don’t let the long ingredients list scare you. Once you’ve gathered them all, making biryani is surprisingly easy, as we are making it in an instant pot. Even if you don’t’ have instant pot at home, you can follow this same recipe to make veg biryani in your regular pressure cooker.
