You can either buy schezwan sauce from any grocery store or you can even make it at home with this homemade schezwan sauce recipe. Schezwan sauce is full of flavours from some hot spices, which enhances any dish it is added to. Turn your boring plain rice into a lip-smacking meal with this recipe.

Schezwan sauce is spicy and full of flavours. 

Easy Schezwan Recipe –

3 cups boiled rice

1 large onion, sliced

Half capsicum, chopped

1 small carrot, finely chopped

4-5 garlic cloves, chopped or grated

2 tbsp schezwan sauce

Salt to taste

Black pepper to taste

Red chilli powder to taste (optional)

Method –

Step 1 – Heat vegetable oil and add garlic till its raw small goes away.

Step 2 – Add onions and saute till they turn translucent.

Step 3 – Add capsicum and carrots, salt, red chilli powder, black pepper, and mix well.

Step 4 – Add schezwan sauce and mix well, cover the pan with a lid, and let the vegetables cook.

Step 5 – Add boiled rice and give it all a good stir and cover the lid again for about 5 minutes to let the rice soak in the flavours from veggies, spices and schezwan sauce.

Garnish with mint leaves or coriander leaves or spring onion greens and enjoy this schezwan rice as a light meal or for in-between-the-meals hunger. You can add more vegetables like mushrooms, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, or any other veggie you like.
