How To Make Malabari Fish Curry:
Here’s the step-by-step recipe of Malabari fish curry with complete list of ingredients.
Fish is one of the most common foods in south Indian cuisine. There are a variety of Indian fish to choose from but this recipe picks seabass fish. Since, we are making it Malabari-style, the fish in doused in a creamy gravy of coconut milk simmered with the choicest of Malabari spices like mustard seeds, curry leaves, coriander seeds and whole red chillies. Tamarind pulp is a must in Malabari dishes. So, make it in advance by soaking some tamarind in warm water and straining excessive water after rubbing the tamarind thoroughly to extract its juice.
Remember to cook the fish curry in coconut oil as that’s what renders the authentic south Indian base to it. Also, don’t miss garnishing the malabari curry with fresh coriander leaves and some fried curry leaves.
