We all are familiar to those 5 pm hunger pangs! It’s that time of the day when our palate craves for some yummy, crunchy and decedent snacks to chomp on, along with a hot cup of tea or coffee. We generally pair our evening cuppa with samosa, pakode, bhujia, namak pade, bread rolls and more. More than filling our stomach, these foods satisfy our heart and please the taste-buds. But the same snack item everyday can be boring and monotonous at times. Fret not; we have a surprise for you!

We managed to find a unique aloo-poha roll recipe that can be ideal to satiate to your chai-time cravings at any point of the day. This recipe is shared by vlogger Alpa Modi, on her YouTube channel ‘Something’s Cooking With Alpa’. Let’s take a look!

In the recipe, Alpa used some basic ingredients like, boiled potato, soaked poha, capsicum, sweet corn, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, green chilli paste, salt, sugar, lime juice, Kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, chaat masala and amchoor powder.

All you need to do is, mix everything together into dough and make cylindrical balls out of it. Then dip them in corn flour slurry, coat with crushed vermicelli and deep fry into golden-brown, crunchy aloo-poha rolls. But make sure, you keep the cylindrical rolls in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes before frying. This will help the sewaiyan to stick to the rolls firmly and bring out the crunchy texture after frying.

Also, you must grate the potatoes before mashing them, to avoid any kind of lump in the dough.

Try it today and give a super indulgent start to the week. Happy cooking!
