One of the biggest festivals of India, Onam is set to culminate on 2nd September, 2020. The festival that began on 22nd August, 2020, has a huge cultural significance for people, especially Malayalis, who celebrate the festival with much fervour. Onam Sadya is one of the most important parts of the festivities. An elaborate meal, Onam Sadya (or Onasadya) is a scrumptious spread with 26 distinct vegetarian preparations that no one can resist, not even our favourite celebrities!

Malaika Arora, a fitness inspiration for many, is also a self-confessed foodie who is no different in bingeing on Indian delicacies around the festive season. She keeps her fans and followers on Instagram updated with many of her decadent indulgences; and so we were in for a delicious surprise when she took to Instagram to share a sneak-peek into her delicious Onam feast with her family, courtesy her mother Joyce Arora.

In her Instagram post, Malaika posted a string of pictures of the lavish spread on the table that had various Onam-special dishes prepared by her mother, who is a popular home-chef. Take a look at Malaika Arora’s Instagram post:

Joyce Arora, who keeps posting her cooking videos on Instagram, too shared the pictures from the day and revealed the menu in her caption! She wrote, “My Onam Sadya: Upp / Inji Puli / Kannimanga Achar / Manga Achar / Vadukapuli Naranga Achar / Chamanthi / Moru Mulaku / Kaya Varathatu/ Sharkara Varatti / Pappadum / Nendran Pazham / Sambaram / Matta Choru / Sambar / Nei / Olan / Puliserry/ Avial / Matanga Eriserry / Velarrika Pachadi / Muttaikose Thoran / Vazhakai Mezhukkapuratti / Kootu Curry / Palada Payasam / Ada Pradhaman”.

The spread indeed looks lavish and had drool-worthy mix of chutneys, pickles, lentils and a melange of sweet, tangy, sour and spicy dishes served on banana leaf.
