Missing your favourite McAloo Tikki or McChicken Burger amidst the lockdown? Here is some good news for all McDonald’s fans! As the country gears up to come out of the two-month long COVID-19 led lockdown, the QSR giant in West and South India is all set to open its doors for its customers once again. With a stringent 42-point checklist in compliance with local government regulations, Westlife Development, the company that owns and operates McDonald’s restaurants in West and South India is ensuring the highest degree of safety and hygiene across its dine-in, delivery and take-out services.

Being one of the first QSRs in India to lead the way, the checklist basically ensures the safety of the customers as well as the employees on every step of dining. So now, you can be rest assured while indulging in your cravings for the juiciest burgers and fries, while Mcdonald’s focuses on giving you a safe, hygienic and delightful dining experience. This is another great step from the burger giant towards safe dining after it announced contact-less take-out services in West and South India just last week.

What’s new in the McDonald’s restaurants?

To give you a safe and comfortable dining experience, McDonald’s India has created a restaurant that takes care of even the smallest of hygiene factors. Some of the steps that the QSR giant has taken are:

1. Mandatory temperature check, hand sanitisers and thermal screening for all employees and customers before entering the restaurant.

2. Regular sanitisation of door handles, kitchen equipments, self-ordering kiosks, washrooms, all tables and chairs, table trackers, trash cans, food trays after every use.

3. Social distancing every step of the way. So the next time you visit a McDonald’s outlet, you will see various social distancing markings in front of the self-ordering kiosks, front counter and washrooms.

4. Alternate table and chair seating arrangements in the dining area.

5. Availability of hand sanitisers at all touchpoints, and in the dining area upon request.

6. Crew members will always be seen wearing protective gears, including masks and gloves.

7. Digital menu cards sent on Whatsapp or through QR codes.

Moreover, the food will be prepared freshly once the order is placed and is served in a contactless manner without being touched by bare hands. There is also a mandatory training for the staff across all outlets on health and hygiene modules, conducted by FSSAI.

This is a great initiative to start business in a phased manner to provide safe, hygienic and convenient food to customers. The move comes in the wake of a 3-phase ‘unlock’ plan started by the government to ease the Covid-induced lockdown throughout the country.
